Las Vegas is one of the most famous cities on the planet. Whether it is in TV, film, or music, the city has always captured the imagination as a place where anything can happen. Though it hasn’t had as many visitors during the pandemic, it is slowly getting back to pre-2020 numbers.
Located four hours from Los Angeles and another four hours from the Grand Canyon, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, but even more to do in the city itself. When you’re not tracking down the locations of some of the most iconic scenes in cinema history, here are a few of our top tips on how to spend your time in Vegas.
Visit the Legend’s Room at the Bellagio
Vegas is a great place for poker fans, with plenty to entice you to the desert. The Bellagio has the Legend’s Room, in which many of the world’s greatest poker players have won and lost millions of dollars. Of course, the World Series of Poker is held in Vegas every year, which also draws thousands of hopefuls from across the globe. However, the Legend’s Room is not just a place to watch the game’s elite play. You can take in the ambiance and feel of the room which has hosted some of poker’s most iconic moments.
Play Roulette at the MGM Grand
If you’ve never experienced the thrill of live roulette, then the MGM Grand is the best place to see it played live. It is a game of pure chance and the way that the crowds wait on bated breath with each spin of the wheel will instantly get you hooked on this game. What makes the MGM special is not just the size of the games room but also how it is laid out. With new games to be found around almost every corner, you can spend all day just walking from one game to another, never visiting the same game twice. Just be sure to plan your visit as best you can to keep your vacation as low-stress as possible.
Take in a Show or Three
There is no shortage of entertainment on offer in Las Vegas. In fact, it is one of the entertainment capitals of the world, hosting different shows, plays, and concerts on almost every corner of the Strip. From magicians to dancing expositions to performances by platinum selling singers, you will never run out of new sights to take in while you are in Las Vegas.
Take in the Venetian Canal
The Venetian Hotel and Casino is situated right on the Strip and features some of the most stunning architecture in the city. It has some great food and gaming that can be done inside it, but the real highlight is the canal that surrounds the hotel. Visitors can board a makeshift gondola for a trip around the waters, the perfect way to relax and get off your feet after a long day walking around the city. It is the closest you can get to the real thing without traveling all the way to Italy.
