Portugal Cultures

Portugal is a very religious country, with tight knit families rich in family values, and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. With Portugal’s coast bordering the Atlantic Ocean. and the soil rich with nutrients creates the perfect combination for producing wine. The Portuguese have been producing wine since the early 1700’s and became one of the first wine producing countries in the world. Portugal is also known for its art culture with lot of its architecture being inspired by the sea. The summer is a favorite time of year for celebration and festivals. Fish and other seafood along with fresh fruit and vegetables are in abundance. Football is Portugal’s national sport and the fans come out of the woodwork to attend the games. Portugal’s culture is full of beauty and wonderment with a lifestyle that brings old world charm into the modern world with grace.

Chilean Culture

The western and southern coastline of Chile border the Pacific Ocean. Depending on where you are in Chile the climate ranges to dry desert climate in the north to sub tropical in the south and a Mediterranean climate in the middle. Chile is known for their vineyards and the wine it produces, and it is also known to be the official location with the most UFO sightings in the world. Visual artistry dates back to pre-Columbian times and right into modern times, the churches and cathedrals have a European influence. One tradition that is very interesting happens on the islands of Chiloe if a family wants to move their house the entire community comes out and disassembles every board and transports it to the new location using a team of oxen and logs. Chilean culture is diverse and incredibly interesting to say the least.

Bolivian Culture

Bolivian cultures have a wide spectrum of ancestry including ancient indigenous groups and traditional Andean culture. Bolivians are very family orientated and a lot of the time all generations live under the same roof. Marriage is very important to the Bolivian culture. and it is expected of pretty much everyone. Offering a lot of food at marriages, funerals and baptisms is a very important custom to their culture. The Day of the dead is when the dead are believed to return home and it is tradition to offer food to the dead. Bolivian people are very superstitious in nature one of the Andean customs date back to the Incas but are still practiced in todays society.

The South American culture live in some of the most gorgeous places in the world and many unbelievable customs and traditions that have spanned centuries, learning about these cultures is a must do.
